Tiny update...

1 comment:
I haven't had much time to blog because of all the work that I've been doing, but I just wanted to drop by and let the world know that I'm not dead! Work is going great, and the autumn weather is putting me in a great mood, and I hope to go around and take some photos of the neighbourhood - the changing leaves are really beautiful this year. I've been walking a lot, especially in the early mornings and after work.

Hopefully I can go on a hike, too.

In other news, I'm getting ready for Halloween... my costume is going to be so awesome.

My night with Dragons

Well, I saw Imagine Dragons at the Opera House on Monday night, and they put on an amazing show. I didn't take any photos, so I borrowed this one from a local radio station, just so you could see.

If you haven't heard their music before, Imagine Dragons are an alternative rock band, that really make use of drums of all types, and synthesizer sounds. All of their songs have a big sound to them, which made their live performance very, very powerful. The crowd and the band were all on the same wavelength, all in all it was a perfect concert experience. After the show, I just felt so pumped full of energy and I swear, this band reminded me why I love music.

After the show, a coworker of mine suggested we go backstage to congratulate them on the show. So once we checked with security, we went down to the green room. Every member of Imagine Dragons was so humbled and awed, surprised that on their first visit to Toronto, everyone  was singing along and actually knew the words. They were such nice guys, and they kept calling me sweetie, hehe.  We hugged even though they were totally drenched in sweat. I told them that their show really pumped me up, and they suggested that we go out and start a fight in the street.

I don't have a video from the concert, but here is their TV debut live on Jay Leno. To give you a taste.

denim jacket. chai tea.

No comments:
Yesterday I made two very important purchases. One for the fall weather, and one for the new apartment. A beautiful, studded denim jacket from Zara and a kettle to boil water! I'm thinking about bleaching the jacket, I like a lighter denim, and it'll definitely make it more 'my own.' We'll see!

I'm off to make chai tea in my new kettle. :)

[20:50:00] Jules: and I love the job so much, but I'm tired constantly, and I really don't see people anymore because I'm here in Toronto, and then on the weekends I go back to St. Catharines to work, so I don't see people there either. I'm working 7 days a week.

[20:50:11 PM] Jules: and I think I'm going crazy being by myself.

The Legend of Zelda... Fashion!

I really, really love video games, but unfortunately, it's always hard to find video game merchandise that's flattering on females so when I found this top on Etsy, I had to have it. Good thing there's always Etsy and other fanmade merchandise.

My sister and I are going to buy some fabric paint to try and experiment with making some of our own stuff. I really want to get into some DIY projects with clothing, but working with my hands like that has never been my forte. Maybe my sister should just handle these things, (she's a seamstress)! Still, we're going to attempt to make some Final Fantasy and Elder Scrolls themed shirts... For girls!

Half Way There

No comments:
I can't believe I am already almost half way through my internship...

I'm going to miss working there a lot, and I hope that one day, I have the opportunity to continue working in the music business. I truly believe that it's a job I would be great at.

Today, an internship coordinator drove up to the label to meet with my supervisors and discuss my progress. It was really heartwarming to hear how much my coworkers appreciated me being there, and even called me valuable. I was a bit embarrassed by the praise (being right there in the room), but it was honestly a very uplifting thing, especially since I'm nervous about some projects that I was recently given. I'm excited to be challenged, but I am also a perfectionist, so sometimes I get nervous about the quality of my work.

We also discussed on what I feel like I've improved on the most, and I'm proud to say that I am a much more confident speaker, face-to-face, over the phone, and in person.
